PMBC
Hi,
I'm new to moutain biking and was looking for some tracks to ride in the Perth area and stumble across this web site.I have a couple of questions,
The tracks/trails listed on the site (Kalamunda circuit,Forsyths mill etc), can any body ride them or do you have to be part of a club/affiliation? What does joining the PMBC entail and can you clarify why I would need a MTBA lisence? Is it only club members that can participate in the group rides I've read about on the site? Thanks in advance?
Swiss pastries Part 2
Took train from Como to Pinerolo, west of Turin.Glad we did, rather than ride. The view out of the window was mostly of a vast industrial area, that gave way to rice paddies.Pinerolo was a stage finish of the Tour de France, the following day.The circus was in town.Watching the race was exciting, with Cadel poised to win.
Next day we rode to Briancon in France. We watched proceedings on a large screen, before strolling up the road,to see the riders race past.It was back over the mountain into Italy after that.

Many hours were spent planning the logistics of this trip.Poring over maps, looking at Google Earth.Mountain biking in the alps can be an inexact science and you have to be flexible.A GPS is of little use as you traverse a morraine high up,where the track is dobs of red and white paint on rocks,or small cairns you try and line up in the distance.
Let me get the bragging out of the way.1400 k's of riding,22000m.of climbing.
