July Pea Gravel

I've been battling the tour induced sleep monster to push the July Pea gravel out.

Content for the August edition is lean, so if you have 500 words you'd like to share, please let me know.

Thanks,

Road Access to Turner Hill

Clinton From DEC has had the roads repaired and graded into Turner Hill, however the rain has played havoc with them and we have been requested to go around.

Scarp Road is simply too slipery and too dangerous.

So for the time being, if you are planning on riding at Turner Hill, can you please NOT use Scarp Road and instead use North Spur Road and Kesners Road as your access points please.

Thanks for your support

And once again, Thanks to Clint for the heads up.

If you have never done this race, or riden this track, you owe it to your self to do this event as the track is going to become Bauxite in the very near future. (it is about to be ripped up for mining). This track was built by Ben McGrath and Paul Pirotta and has a massive amount of character.

Entries can be found here;

Super D Tracks and Online Rego

The tracks have been locked in for the Super D race. All the trails being used are part of the Blue Cruiser XC circuit, so no excuses. But don't worry, they'll also make for an exhilarating ride.

We've opened up online rego. Head to the MTBA event registration so we can hopefully get a rough idea of how many riders we are catering for.

See you at the Goat Farm!

Website overhaul

Well, it's probably pretty apparent that the website has been updated. We are now part of the "Global Riders Network".
There are a bunch more features here, in particular:

New "Classifieds" section, so that the forums aren't overrun by people trying offload their gear.
Ride Calendar.
Dedicated trails info section

and more. Look around, get involved, and let's build this site!

If you do want to get involved, take a look here first: http://all.global-riders.net/node/7161

Position Vacant = XC timing person required

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

PMBC require a new chief timing person.

Do you go the XC races and sit around waiting for your partner to race?
Do you want to get involved and earn a few bucks at the same time?
Do you have a few computer skills that you could share with us?

Well this could be exactly what you have been looking for................

Amanda Lobegeiger has been doing an awesome job of this for years. And she took over from Mike Daws, who took over from Bron Suchecki.

This is one of the few paid positions in the club at $70. The second and sometimes third timing person get $30 per wave after that.

The position only requires you to actually help on the day but a few things you do need to know are...........

•This is a really important job, possibly the most important job of the whole race.
•You do need to make a commitment to learning the timing system
•You do need to be reliable and turn up if you say you are going to turn up.
