Dirt Crits are baaaack!!!
Just in case you don't see the front page when you log in. This is a heads up http://www.perthmtb.asn.au/node/6549
May i ask if there'll be an "E" grade??? I did a road crit w the WCMCC in "E" grade & thought it could apply at these??? I got a taste & would like to do more(dirt preferably) but realize I need better cornering skills @ speeeeeeeeeeeeed.
I don't think there'll be too many sandbaggers in this class and it would allow folks like me to not be frightened off. I promise to show up each time!

It was A,B, C & D grades last time. I'd never raced before, but was still pointed towards C grade at registration. Finished mid-field so I guess it was the right call. I had a ball and my only worry was trying to not hold up the A & B graders as they lapped me
Looking forward to it again.
Hello,
I will expand further to Greg's message on the homepage.
The City of Belmont have undertaken an extensive review after the first Dirt Crit series at Garvey Park. Requesting feedback from the other park users and local residents. Most of the feedback has been positive however there is one item of negative feedback. The council has decided to discuss this at a management meeting next Wednesday. This meeting will discuss the future of mountain bike races at Garvey Park. It had been hoped to finalise this review process in early February however decisions in councils take a little longer to be made.
As such, the first race of four is expected to be on the 15/3 and not on the 8/3. So please don't turn up expecting to race because nobody will be there. Another consequence to pushing the series back a week is with the Day Licence fee, as of 31st of March the day licence fee will increase from $15 to $18.
I will let you know as soon as the council make a decision next week.
Craig
Hello,
Good news the council have given the PMBC approval for future events at Garvey Park. So the March/April series and an October/Nobember series will be going ahead.
However, they are required to send letters out to all the local residents notifying them of the dates and details of the series. The earliest they will put these letters in the post will be Monday (tomorrow), not allowing them to be received before the planned start on the 15th. As such the series will be pushed back another week starting on the 22/3. It will still run for 4 weeks every Tuesday.
So once again, please don't turn up this Tuesday because there will not be a race this week. It starts a week later.
More good news, Greg and I spent a couple of hours tidying up the course and cutting a new section of basic single track to add a little more excitement. The race format and course will be much the same as the previous series.
Hope to see as many of you down there on the 22nd.
Craig
BUMP
ill be riding there after work from the city.
Anyone wanna ride along PM me.
p.s. how do you get under tonkin highway, or do you just ride along great eastern highway?
It's easy Caution.
There is a cycle way running along the midland train line.
Get onto the cyclce way at east perth and go all the way to bayswater train station. If you look right you will see CYCLE BESPOKE. Continue through the train station car park onto another piece of cycle way along the railway line. You will go under tonkin hwy then turn right/ cross Guildford rd at the traffic lights. Head in the same direction as the tonkin which is on your right. go onto a suburban street, i think there is cycle route signs. eventually, 400 metres you will see the redcliffe bridge. Go over the river and Garvey park is to the left as you go over the bridge. It is about a kilometre along the river on cycle way.
Cheers
Murray

Cheers
Racing starts at 7pm. Registration will be from approx 6:15pm. See the "Events" tab to the left, click on Dirt Crits and then scroll to the bottom for some updated information about the current series. Apologies for the delay and shortage of information prior to the series getting underway.
