By ttmtb - Posted on 06 January 2012

We are getting closer to locking the dates in for the 2012 XC season.

We have just had confirmation from Dunsborough that they are good for saturday afternoon 11 August.

The Dunsborough race will be a 2 or 3 hour,(depending on your class) solo only enduro and will count for normal XC series points. A few more points will probably be on this event (like Pemberton is) to reward you for riding longer.

4 March - Karri Cup Northcliffe

25th March - Jarrahdale (PMBC Points Series)

1st April - Single Track Minds 4 hour (revised date from 15th)

21st and 22nd April - Pemberton (PMBC Points Series)

13th May - Barry's Block (Donneybrook is the closest major town)(PMBC Points Series)

27th May - TBA (not Murray Valley, it's getting logged)(PMBC Points Series)

17 June - Single Track Minds Kalamunda 50k (confirmed)

15th July - Turner Hill(PMBC Points Series)

Sat 11th August - Dunsborough (small solo only enduro)(PMBC Points Series)

26 August - Single Track Minds 6 hour (revised date from July)

Sat 15th September - Dwellingup 100

14th October - Goat Farm State Champs

How about Forsyth Mills?

Forsyth Mill is a great track.

The reason we haven't used it for a race for a few years is that there are some fairly serious car parking issues when 100 + cars turn up.

In saying that, we will be talking to DEC this Tuesday about this exact issue.

feel free to come to the AGM on 7/2/12, put up your hand and get involved, we need more good help!

Great work on the plan for the year and like Pete I'm also liking the Enduro idea.

I know I should have mentioned this earlier but I guess I was crossing my fingers hoping it wouldn't happened. The 6hr Enduro and the Mountain Designs Adventure race (Dwellingup) are on the same day (29th July). Out of all the events of the year I was looking forward to these two events.

I understand completely if you (or John) can't change the date of the 6hr but if I never ask then I'll never know. The Mountain Designs Adventure race registration is already open and I think some like myself have already registered (and now considering forfeiting their adventure race Rego).

Thanks guys, I know the job is hard and some has to do it.

Thanks Dylan, we are looking into it and will let everyone know if something changes.

ooooo!!!!! YYAAAAAA...happy dance!

Sooo happy the 6hr's in August now! I'm not back on (any) of my bikes yet etc & have been pondering what races i'll be able to do this year. This gives me the reason to not rush my desire to get back into the swing too quickly...Can't wait!
(Granted, i have quite a few other events i'm training for at the mo Smiling) This date means I'll be able to do it solo as planned!!!! Wahoooooey! Yipeeeeeeeee!!!

Hmmm..can I enter as a 40+ chick although that over the hill bday's not til this November? Sticking out tongue

Thanks John!!!

Happy CC!

Hey tony/John
I completely agree with Dylan and think you guys do an awesome job of what is without a doubt a tough job - especially as you try to keep as many people happy as possible...

Just thought I'd let you know the changed date for the 6hr clashes with the city 2 surf, which is probably a blessing for most unless the 2 sports you do are running and Mtb.. All the marathons held in Perth this year now clash with the enduro and longer races. Kal 50/50 with Perth marathon, 6hr with city 2 surf and cape to cape with rotto marathon.

After a few changes to the calendar already, I don't expect you be in a position to change them again. I guess those of us that are into cross over sports just have to choose one to support for the year rather than juggle them both! Bugger!

Happy trails,
Alex

Yep you are right that I'm not going to change the date. What is the City to Surf anyway? Smiling Surely everyone is aware of what running does to your joints.

Dates are set and the events are shaping up already to look pretty good.
