2012 XC Round 1 - Jarrahdale - Results
OK, first race of the season is done and dusted. Good fun trail and a fairly slick execution for the first event. The feed table was outstanding - thanks Mark!
The results look good. They are attached here - please let me know if you think something is incorrect.

Hey Team,
Thanks for a great day today, BUT lol I did finish so something is wrong with my results for sure, I have number 231 and had a finish time of 1h45m07s on my Garmin
Not sure what has happened but looks like my first and second lap have been counted as one lap when comparing to my Garmin which I stopped a little after finishing, happy to post my garmin results on connect to confim. Looks like my time should be 1h44m30s as per the official timimg results.
Thanks folks
PS Richard will be able to confirm this as he was egging me on coming through trasition each lap and was at the timing table.
Found your missing lap Chris. The results have been updated.
I would also like to mention that due to the unexpected lack of presence of the volunteer who was going to be doing the timing today, Amanda Lobegeiger gave her race up and did the timing herself.
Thanks for your sacrifice Amanda!
Hi All,
Great race on Sunday!....Well it was until I saw that I'd lost my Garmin GPS on the first lap of the Masters race - damn! if anyone has found it can you contact Marcus on 0434 925 914. Cheers.
Thanks Guys,
Knew it would get fixed and a big shout out to everyone who puts in there own time so we can have a blast around, and big props to Amanda thats true commitment, thanks also to Richard for spurring me on to keep going on not such a good day for me.
Cheers PMBC
Chris
Yup - saw Chris 3 times! Can vouch for that.
It was interesting, as a volunteer, to see what goes on behind the scenes at an event like this - lots of work! And it got hot! I trundled around the course on my MB after to pick up bunting/signs etc and I was sweating+++ at the end - so was beginning to understand the humidity and heat that kicked in as the day wore on. Riding with a bag of markers and bunting swinging from one handlebar and another swinging around my shoulder is probably not the recommended style for XC though - thanks to Mark for relieving me of part of my burden half way through!
Thx to Mark and Jen/Rock and Roll Mountain biking for refreshments and cakes and an event well done!
Hey Marcus, we have your Garmin. Will contact you via PM to organise its return.
Hi,
Great fun and thanks to all the volunteers. Looks like Masters might be a bit tougher this year.
Even though I beat my times from last year by 4 minutes all up I moved from 13th last year to 17th this year!!!
My son had fun as well in his first race.
Photos??
Lots of people were taking photo's around the course. Any idea where to get them from
Think I even managed to change the grimace to a smile on a couple of them.
Hi
Duncan Sullivan here, I did complete 3 laps. I think I finished 5th, I finished a few metres ahead of someone who was probably in sport and finished with a rear flat, approx 1.28 total time for me.
Thanks for a great day.
Yes, it was my first race after about 5 years, an extra 10 kg, 5 less on the theoretical max heart rate, and a badly dragging front disc, but 15 minutes slower than the Sport winner! And Sport was relatively slow compared to the Masters and Vets.
Bearing in mind I placed or won a round here back when I arrived in Perth some 7 years ago, I'm either truly older and slower or the standard has really improved!
All the same, it was a great event, thank you to the organizers and volunteers, and I was amazed we all got given free food by Rock N Roll, and even cake if you weren't worried about your diet. And on the plus side, my last lap was far faster than my second.
Small story: I rode my prelap only to confirm my front brake was leaking badly. So with 20 minutes to go before the race I had to install my spare front disc brake, including getting the controls off and on the handlebar. I just made it before the start but had no time to eliminate the drag. Luckily I brought the spare because I noticed a tiny seep the night before after I bled the brake. Moral: I won't fettle the night before a race again to try to perfect my set-up, a very slight spot of disc drag like I had isn't worth the risk.
Damn, there was free food? I had a barbecue to go to so ran off right afterwards.
Thanks to all the vollies. Hopefully next time I can hang around afterwards and pick up signs & bunting.
I thought it was going to be the other way around as well Jeronimo, Sport being faster than Vets. I took off after the Vets and felt like I was trying to sprint the first lap
After looking at the results, if I had chosen sports men I would have done better, and if I didn't hit a rock somewhere around 6k in on the last lap and gone flying over the handlebars at 30kph, then I would have done much better.
Hi All,
Thanks for organising a great day and to the all the volunteers who made it happen - was my first PMBC race but won't be the last
Here's a link to some pics my girlfriend took - hopefully you might spot yourselves in there, she says she's sorry she didn't get one of everyone (and there's none from the later races I'm afraid).

Enjoy!
Beb.
Also would like to know about the photos.
The results have been updated to include Duncan - you finished in 4th in Super Masters Men - well done!
Hey Guys,
Sorry it took so long with the photos but I finally processed them and uploaded them to my web site.
Here is a link:

I realize that the web does not work on the smartphones so please view that on your computer if you can.
If you want to have a copy of the photos, just e-mail me your plate number or the photo number. Also view it in full screen mode - just looks better
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask
Cheers
