how far will the race be for the under 15s division.anyone know???
Thank you for an important question.
At this moment in time, the course and infrastructure is being prepared, once information is available we happily make it public.
Please be patient and enjoy the up and coming race at Turner Hill, this course has just had major work completed and it flowing really well.
regards
Martin Nugent
oooooooooh yeah!!!
The finer details are still being worked out, however the following has been confirmed.
The race is on Sunday 12 August, not Saturday as origonally planned
Elite, Expert, Vets, Masters, will race a 3 hour enduro plus the lap they are on.
Most other classes will race for 2 hours plus the lap they are on.
Some classes (U15) will race for 1 hour plus the lap they are on. However, we are open to negotiation and if you have any suggestions please send them to me at tonymtb@bigpond.com
There will also be a seperate U13's race and special trail for them to crank around all day long if they want to.
As you have possibly gathered, normal racing classes are all we are running and there are no teams, just solos in this event. Normal club points apply to this race as it is part of the series.
All classes are racing at the same time, but the track will long enough to handle it.
The trail will be finalized in the second week of July.
We will be posting more information in the next few weeks.
I hope this helps.
Do you have approximate length of circuit as, for me, it will determine if I enter.
Hi Hudson
hope you've been well, and i still have your rear light which i found in my bike bag over the weekend.
Would the distance of the race simply be as far as you can, or feel like riding for 2-3 hours, depending on your class.
Or is that too simplistic a way of looking at it?
Shame that the race has been changed to the Sunday, for races that are a bit further away I think that Saturday is a good option as it gives people the option to stay overnight and have a bit of a social function afterwards much like pemberton! Ah well.
Agree sat a better option maybe 11am start time for presos and evening ales etc then a ride in margs on the awesome trails sunday before heading next year perhaps.
The origonal plan was to have the same presentation function as we do at Pemberton, however, the Dunsborough country club (where the race is) now have a function on the Saturday night.
In saying that there will still be a meal deal on the Saturday night and you will be able to purchase tickets on the online entry system when you enter for the race.
There is a massive amount of information including accommodation options for this event being finalized and we will have it up in the next week or so.
The entries for this race will open on 12/7/12.
Hope this helps a little.
Unfortunately, this clashes with the Pickering Brook road race #3.
So for those who dabble in the road bikes, it'll come down to what your priorities are.
I'll be at Dunsborough!
So the country club has a booking, would it still not be a better idea to race on the Saturday and give people the option of their own social catch-up at the pub etc?
Seems a shame that pemberton is the only race of the year where you actually get to have a beer with your competitors afterwards and have a chat!
Anyway, only my opinion, I am well aware of the complexities of organising these events and greatly appreciate the efforts of those who do! I guess I just prefer the beer drinking to the racing! Ha ha
