A class of our own

Dear Ladies,

It has come to our (mine and a few other ladies) attention that other categories have had in the past only one or two riders in them. (Under 15 girls, Sports Ladies, Grand Masters Men, Novice, Elite Ladies)

I was under the impression to get your own category in a race you required 3 riders. Since this has not applied over the last few races, I on behalf of the Masters and Super Masters ladies would like suggest that we request our own separate categories as others have been given.

In all fairness, the age categories are there to give riders a fairer playing field. The choice is there for others to ride in a younger category if they chose, this choice has not been given to our Super Masters ladies.

Do you think or would you like me to approach our PMBC committee with regards to this. If there is no interest I do not wish to waste the committee time if it is not something you care about.

Thank you for your time
Kyra Eddy

The usual arrangement for most events is that if there is less than three competitors in a category then there were no prizes presented for that category. The logic being that you should at least have to beat a few people to earn your prize.

Was never about the prizes, what about the the points system. How does that work?

that has not been the case Zoom

and "it is not about the prizes" or "winning"

shall we merge masters and super masters men into one category?

or elite women and elite men??

food for thought Smiling

Hi Kyra

You have a valid point.

All PMBC members should have an equal say in what happens in their club.

Due to the fact that we are now only two races out of the end of the season, I would like to suggest we implement this for the state finals and start it fresh next season.

I will look into it and make sure it can be implemented, if not I will give you a very good reason why not.

best regards
