Its a short xc race. I don't think its an official MTBA format (so no associated rules). So its up to the organiser how they run it. Don't let the name fool you, its fun either way Smiling

"The course will be short, flowing, fast and fun and will encourage close and exciting racing in all classes"

The main post is here:

You know what, im in, sounds like fun. Any excuse to race.

I haven't raced for ages. So pumped to smash out some laps on the cross bike, and then come back and smash out some more laps on the Mountain Bike.

Power up!

are the night races at Garvey Park going to make a return as well?

Hey All,

We would love to see the Garvey Park dirt crits back on again, we just need someone to take it on and run it for the four or so weeks its usually on for.

So..... if anyone is up to take this on we will support and guide you through the process.

Bring it on and great to see a day version of this too Tony Smiling top job.

The CX course is 2.6 kms long and will be fast!

The Dirt Crits course is 1.67 kms long and has a bit of everything including some cool bits of single track.

Spectators will get to see the riders twice on each lap as well as an added bonus.

And there are no big climbs in any of it. Smiling

Some interesting questions have been thrown my way about these races, so here are my answers.

What are the races = Normal mountain bike races on a shorter flatter course, 1.67km long course. Great for riders and spectators alike.

What is a Dirt Criterium = Also known as "Short Course Cross Country" or XCC, as described above, a shorter cross country race.

What is Cyclocross (CX) = A cross between a road bike and a mountain bike, this race will be on a different (smoother) course and is 2.6km long

Can I use my normal mountain bike = You can for all of the races except the CX unless you put 35mm wide tyres on it.

How do I enter more than one class = You must press the control button and click on your second choice of class with your mouse.

Entries close midnight Wednesday night.

See you there.

Please find attached the entry list, categories, and start times for Saturdays races. This is attached to the first post in this thread. (XCC)

Please note that we have bumped the start times back half an hour due to the forecast of 35 degrees and becoming humid. The first race (the CX) will now start at 4.30 pm, races will then start each half an hour from then on with presentations at 6.45 pm.

Plate collection and registration will now be from 3 pm to 4 pm

First aid will be on site, but please bring sun screen and lots of water.

We won't be having food, drinks or coffee their either sorry, but Kalamunda is just up the road for all of this.

Entries are available in the day but will incur a $20 late fee.

Thanks to all the organisers and helpers on the day for putting on such a great event Smiling.

I noticed there was a guy taking a lot of photos, does anyone know if these are available to view somewhere?

Sorry it took me a while to get around to it, but I've uploaded my photos to my facebook site:

Apologies if I missed anyone!

Hi Anthony,

If so please could you send them to my email address?

Cheers, Gareth.
