Meeting Point:

With the growing popularity of the gravity enduro format worldwide, Single Track Minds have added a gravity enduro race to their roster to complement the events run by Peel Districts MTB Club and Western Australian Gravity Enduro.

This race will involve an un-timed climb, before riders race down a timed course of approximately 70% descending and 30% flat/uphill. This format is perfect for those who prefer the descents to the climbs, and will pit cross country racers against downhill racers to find out who is the state’s best all-round mountain biker.

Jarrahdale 6 Hour

Sunday, 8 June, 2014 (All day)

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Langford Park, Jarrahdale
Meeting Point:

South West Highway Directions - Langford Park is located on Nettleton Road in Jarrahdale. This is about 45 to 50 minutes drive south from the centre of Perth. You can either go down the South West Highway and turn left onto Nettleton Road just as you leave Byford (Peak petrol station on the corner) and proceed along Nettleton Road until you cross a set of disused train tracks. The entrance to Langford Park will be on your right about 400m after the train line. You will cross the train line again as you enter the park and you should follow the signs at the round about that take you to the lake car park. On race day a marshal will direct you from the round about.

Freeway directions - If you come down the freeway (best for those people from the northern or western suburbs and Fremantle people) exit the freeway at Mundijong Road and turn left towards the hills. Take Mundijong road all the way to the South West Highway and turn right. Take an immediate left into Jarrahdale road and continue up the hill for about 3kms. Nettleton Road will be on your left just after you enter the 60km speed zone. Proceeed for about 1km and Langford Park will be on the left. Drive into the park and you will get to a roundabout, follow the signs at the round about that take you to the lake car park. On race day a marshal will driect you from the round about.

Now a staple on the WA mountain bike calendar, the Jarrahdale 6 Hour is a great event to do with friends or to go out and attack solo. Why not do it as a team or two/three, where only one of you is on course at a time. This gives you plenty of time to take in the atmosphere and enjoy each lap without needing the fitness of a pro!

Course details will be released closer to the event. Expect a fast flowing course about 10-11kms long with a fastest lap time around the 30 minute mark.

The Dell carpark.

Calamunnda Camel Farm
A safe place to leave your car and the largest car park in the are. The mountain bike friendly cafe also does camel rides. The food here is great and the scones and camel toe biscuits are highly recommended. They also carry a few bike spares should you forget/break anything.

Farrell Grove
Large DPaW managed car park off of Mundaring Weir Rd. There are lots of picnic tables and some toilets here. Great place to park if you want to ride the trails around Scorpion or Gunjin, especially if the Dell is full.

Black Stump car park
A good place to park at the western end of the trails network, next to the excellent pump track. There is a trailhead map and noticeboard. Cross Mundaring Weir Rd to the north side and pick up the trail from here. After 50m you will have a choice of the longer, harder Blue rated "Slippery When Dry" trail or the easier Green rated trail.

The Dell
One of the busiest and smaller car parks. It has great trail access, toilets and several picnic areas in beautiful bush surroundings.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

We will have the latest Scott carbon Spark and Genius bikes in both 27.5" and 29" so you can ride them both and compare.
