Are you keen to see what all the excitement of mountain biking is about? This is a great way to introduce yourself or friends to mountain biking in Western Australia. We will guide you through an introduction to mountain biking, covering all the beginner topics like bike setup, bike balance and control and some basic skills. This clinic will outline the sport of mountain biking with clear advice and step-by-step instructions.

A safe place to leave your car and the largest car park in the are. The mountain bike friendly cafe also does camel rides. The food here is great and the scones and camel toe biscuits are highly recommended. They also carry a few bike spares should you forget/break anything.

Langford Park, Jarrahdale
Meeting Point: 

South West Highway Directions - Langford Park is located on Nettleton Road in Jarrahdale. This is about 45 to 50 minutes drive south from the centre of Perth. You can either go down the South West Highway and turn left onto Nettleton Road just as you leave Byford (Peak petrol station on the corner) and proceed along Nettleton Road until you cross a set of disused train tracks. The entrance to Langford Park will be on your right about 400m after the train line. You will cross the train line again as you enter the park and you should follow the signs at the round about that take you to the lake car park. On race day a marshal will direct you from the round about.

Freeway directions - If you come down the freeway (best for those people from the northern or western suburbs and Fremantle people) exit the freeway at Mundijong Road and turn left towards the hills. Take Mundijong road all the way to the South West Highway and turn right. Take an immediate left into Jarrahdale road and continue up the hill for about 3kms. Nettleton Road will be on your left just after you enter the 60km speed zone. Proceeed for about 1km and Langford Park will be on the left. Drive into the park and you will get to a roundabout, follow the signs at the round about that take you to the lake car park. On race day a marshal will driect you from the round about.

Giant Bicycles Australia in association with Giant Canningvale will be hosting a mountain bike demo day on Sunday the 23rd of March at Langford Park Jarrahdale from 7.30am - midday.
You'll be able to take out one of the latest 2014 Off-Road Performance bikes out onto the Jarrahdale trails for a period of up to 30 minutes.
Remember if you plan to demo a bike then please remember to bring the following:
• Your own pedals if not Shimano SPD or flat pedals
• Suitable clothing for mountain biking
• Plenty of water and some snacks
• An Australian Standards Approved helmet

Meeting Point: 

From the corner of Brookton Hwy and Canning Rd, travel north for 1.1km. Turn right onto O'Meagher Rd and travel for 700m. Turn right onto Illawarra Rd and travel for 1.1km. Turn left onto Dale Rd (turns to gravel after the hill) and travel for roughyl 4km to the assembly area.

Alternatively from Mundaring, take Ashendon Rd (off Mundaring Weir Rd) for 16.2km and turn right onto Dale Rd for 2.5km to the assembly area.

Mountain bike orienteering using a map and compass to navigate from control to control in the shortest time possible. Riders use specially designed maps to negotiate the course in the best way they see fit.
