The Wagyl Biddi trail network in Collie is mostly an undiscovered gem in Collie 500m from thee Centre of town, Next to the Collie River and a beautiful spring feed swim hole.
Camping/ Caravaning
is also available next to the course with a spring feed swim hole on the lower Collie Senior High School Oval available from Friday 5pm through to Monday 1pm.
The trail network
was a real hit for many riders over the last 2 years for those who love faster flatter, yet challenging circuits on offer. Of course we made them easier for the U13 and lower grade riders in the male D &E Grades and Female C & D grades.
The circuit was built 8 years ago by Common Ground with a new addition to the trail network added 2 years ago . The Dropped Pie zone which includes some nice jumps and berms plus the opportunity for kids to play on the unused jump lines when their event isnt on.
The trails have lots of variety with a blend of approximately 50% fast smooth flow trail, 30% fun rocky technical blue trail and 20% open connecting trails all with only 13m elevation which will be a nice change from the Wellington Dam event.
We are excited to present you with the opportunity to race on these trails again this year and further blow you away with what trails are available and being developed in the Collie/ Wellington Dam region, including the very popular new Kylie trail starting on the edge of town and the new 20 plus km of Wellington Dam trailsmostly completed late last year.
There will be an opportunity to practice on these trails any day prior to the race following the attached map and fully marked for official practice between 7-8am on the Race Day.
There are new jump lines near the Start/Finish area to keep active kids entertained and a fantastic beautiful crystal clear lake next to the trails to cool off in. The trails are great for spectators with plenty of access points to easily watch the race at multiple points with a short walk between each.
Join us on Sunday 3rd of March in Collie for the second round of the Cross Country Olympic (XCO) 2023 state series and the final round of the South 32 Wambenger Cup, with the first round being on the Saturday morning at Potters Gorge- Wellington Dam.
We’ll be following a similiar format to previous events in the XCO state series with Women’s, Men’s and Sprocket’s categories. PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE NOW HAVE A D CLASS FOR WOMEN NOVICE/BEGINNER RIDERS AND E GRADE FOR MEN.
The event centre will be located on the Collie High School Sports Grounds just 1 min from the town centre and presentations at 1pm in the Town Centre park stage (details below).
Come for the race, stay for the fun…bring the whole family and come on down to test yourself against the state’s best in Collie on Sunday
