When is the track going to be released?

Will there be general trail closures?

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you some news about our beloved Pemberton MTB Park. We have just received word that the Pemberton Visitor Centre (the land managers of the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park) have been unable to secure insurance for the bike park. They have voted to close the park until further notice.

This is devastating news for the Pemberton community and WA mountain bike riders, as countless volunteer hours along with hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent establishing a unique and iconic riding destination for all to enjoy.

The Pemberton Visitor Centre have advised they are exploring alternate arrangements in order to re-open the park.

Please share this post so it can get to the right ears and comment below on what the Pemberton MTB Park means to you. Your support means a lot to us.

Most other trail centres are managed by DBCA & subsequently the insurance cost would be borne by the State government

some of the best mountain biking, pub, camping, eating experiences of my life spent here.

The MTB trails are why we visit Pemberton and has been for a decade.

Bummer! I loved riding there the other weekend and was planning on going back for some more riding

Interesting that public liability insurance costs don’t appear to have been a problem with any other pump track or mountain bike park in WA, Australia or elsewhere in the world. Maybe there is another issue at play here ?

Why are we the only country in the world that continues to make it hard for enjoyment.

Lloyds of London are the only ones that will insure obscure things these days and have a lot of policies in Australia.. Look them up as they will hopefully take care of it, don't sneeze at the suggestion as they do lots here in WA and cheaper than local insurers..

We… the community, can help prevent this. Can we?

Sacha Upton - noooooo!!!!!!

Post notices to say you have to sign wavers ..der

I'm a member of Auscycling, surely that's protects me with insurance riding the trails.

Can't u still ride there, uninsured???

What exactly is the insurance for? Seems obsurd that insurance is even required. What land managers around Australia have been sued for injuries in MTB parks?

Freaking public liability BS these days, so frustrating 😤

Worst news. Mark Hudson I am so sorry to read this tonight.
